Simplivity upgrade manager 5.2 fails applying firmware SVTSP-2023_1130
Hi,
We are upgrading a cluster with 3 Simplivity 325 Gen10 Plus v2 nodes.
Initially we have upgraded vCenter to version 8.0U3d - 24322831, the plugin to 5.2.0.43 and the arbiter to 5.2.0.22.
We have started with the first node which originally had the following versions:
- OmniStack 4.1.3
- ESXi 7.0 U3i - 20842708
- Firmware: SVTSP-2022_1021.02
To get to the latest firmware SVTSPGen10-2025_0131.03 it is necessary to previously go through versions SVTSP-2023_0502 and SVTSP-2023_1130.
At the first attempt to update the node, the following versions have been successfully updated:
- OmniStack 5.2.0 - OK
- ESXi 8.0 U3c - 24414501 - OK
- Firmware: SVTSP-2023_0502 - OK
In a second step we have tried to install the SVTSP-2023_1130 firmware (shutting down the VM vCLS by hand because otherwise it does not pass the test) and apparently it has been updated well, but at the end it has given a failed status.
We have tried again several times and there is no way, it always gives some error.
We have restarted the Omnistack and ESXi and still gives error.
And it does not let us move directly to the SVTSPGen10-2025_0131.03 version because it detects that the SVTSP-2023_1130 is not installed.
We have not yet started upgrading the other 2 nodes.
What can we do to upgrade to latest firmware?
Thanks and best regards,

Betreff: Simplivity upgrade manager 5.2 fails applying firmware SVTSP-2023_1130
We always update SVTP Firmware by hand via iLO (booting from iso), because we never had luck installing it with upgrade manager.

Re: Simplivity upgrade manager 5.2 fails applying firmware SVTSP-2023_1130
Hi @Rive
Please ensure the compatibility of the SVTSP-2023_1130 firmware with your current OmniStack and ESXi versions, also see if all prerequisites are met.
Review the HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Manager logs. The logs are located in the %localappdata%\UpgradeManager folder on your Windows machine.
You may search the SvtUpgradeManager.txt file for any error messages or clues and see why it's failing to validate.
Check the network connectivity between the Upgrade Manager and iLO. Most of the issues may be related to iLO credentials.
Here's an additional resources that you might find helpful:
