Unable to use Upgrade Manager
Hi,
I'm managing severall clients simplivity clusters.
Usually there's not problem to upgrade but I have 2 of them where I cant use the upgrade manager.
When I run it and put IP and vcenter credentials I immediatly get an error message "Cannot complete login. Please make sure server, username and password are correct".
Of course credentials and Ip are correct because I can connect to the vcenter...
I tried to check and reset vcenter certificates through OVC, check the simplivity plugin, reboot the vcenter...
Nothing works. I'm stuck.
I have opened a support ticket to HP but as usual they do not respect carepack delays. I have D+1 response, and still 48hrs after, no news...
Does anyone has an idea to that ?
I just dont want to do the upgrade through CLI...

Re: Unable to use Upgrade Manager
Hi,
In most cases, we do end up resolving this using cli, but there are a couple of things that you can try and check.
First, try using a different VM with supported OS, preferably in same management network as the OVC. Please do check for pre-requisites in the upgrade guide. (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00131392en_us).
Next, you can update vCenter credentials on OVC using dsv-update-vcenter command and check upgrade manager for any progress.
You can also try creating a new user with full administrator privileges and try with the new username and password.
Although like I said, we may end up using CLI to fix or upgrade, hence I'd recommend to work closely with Support.

Re: Unable to use Upgrade Manager
I get your frustration about waiting for help with the issue. Here's a quick rundown of things to try for fixing the "Cannot complete login" error in Simplivity Upgrade Manager:
1- Check vCenter info: Make sure you've got the right vCenter IP and login details. Check by logging into vCenter UI.
2- Validate certificates: Confirm vCenter certificates are valid at Administration > System Configuration > Certificates.
3- Plugin check: Ensure Simplivity plugin is installed and active in vCenter Plugin Manager.
4- Reboot vCenter: Try restarting the vCenter server.
5- Still stuck? Consider reaching out to HP support for further help.
More tips:
1- Test FQDN: Use full domain name instead of IP in Simplivity Upgrade Manager.
2- Admin account: Try logging into vCenter with an admin account.
3- Different browser: Attempt Simplivity Upgrade Manager in a different browser.
4- Disable security software: Turn off interfering security software.
Hope this helps!
