I have been tasked with upgrading our simplivity clusters from 4.1.1 to 5.1U1 as we are moving to ESXi8. The upgrade planner does not seem to be accessible at present but I have read that I would need an intermediate hop to 4.2 before going to 5.
Reading the interop guide I understood that a direct hop to 5.1.U1 is possible.
Can anyone confirm what is the recommended approach to this upgrade?

SolutionHi Kevin,
There is no intermediate hop required. You can upgrade OmniStack directly from 4.1.1U1 to 5.1.0U1.
You are correct that the upgrade planner is currently unavailable. They are working to bring this back online.
Cheers!

Re: Upgrade of Simplivity 4.1.1 to 5.1.U1
Kevin Hi
from experiance the sequence should be:
1) Follow the latest HPE SimpliVity OmniStack Interoperability Guide.
2) Download upgrade package.
3) Upgrade Vcenter to Vcenter 8 (version from the matrix)
4) Use ugrade manager to upgrade OVC and esxi hosts.
5) Run latest Simplivity support pack to upgrade firmware.
6) Upgrade Esxi with blatest Simplivity offline bundel (from matrix).
hope this helps
