VM Not in storage HA compliance

Hello!

I have a large VM, a little over 9TB. And its showing as not in storage HA compliance.

How do I check the progress of it's syncing? Is there some command that shows the percent completion of it becoming storage HA compliant again?

Re: VM Not in storage HA compliance

@Brian_Galante

Good day!

In SimpliVity terms,  Storage HA means, each VM has 2 copies of same data on any 2 Nodes in a Cluster (given its 2 or more nodes ) Storage HA not compliant message is expected in a Single Node cluster.

The message usually means the VM data is not in Sync between the Primary and Secondary Copy. Reasons could be one of the Nodes with the Secondary Copy of the VM was shutdown - taken offline for some maintenance activity etc

You may check the Storage utilization on each node by running the command:
dsv-balance-show --shownodeip

This will give us indication of how much space is used and free on each Nodes within the Cluster, if there is enough space om each Node to accomodate a large VM.

For the Large VM, you may check the following command output:

dsv-balance-manual
select the cluster serial number (example 1, 2 etc. whichever applicable) and let it complete the command

This will give us a table with 2 entries for a Vm (P is Primary Copy, S is Secondary Copy) This will give us an idea where the VM copies are allocated.

You may check the below command to verify if the VM is synchronizing if not in Sync

svt-vm-show

Hope the above information helps!
