Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
I've upgraded our OVC's to 4.1.0U1 and am attempting to upgrade our hosts from esxi 6.7 to 7.0U1. I've downloaded the custom ISO from vmware but when running the upgrade through Lifecycle Manager I get the following error about VIB dependency.
"The upgrade has VIBs that are missing dependencies: SVC_bootbank_simplivity-esx-6.x-nas-plugin_3.0.8.5-1"
My guess is that I'm able to uninstall this VIB and continue but wanted to see if anybody else has run into this? I didn't see any info in the Simplivity documentation about it.
Thanks.

Re: Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
Hello @bbelew
What is the 6.7 build number you are running at the moment? I haven't seen this error in particular, I know of similar error while updating ESXi in other plarforms, and as you said uninstalling the VIB usually resolves it. I'd like to double check though if we can do this without any impact.

Re: Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
I'm currently running VMware ESXi 6.7.0 17700523 trying to go to VMware ESXi 7.0.1 17551050. I downloaded the HPE Custom ISO for this version from vmware but VUM says it's incompatible because of the VIB.
I'm able to use ESXi custom offline bundle that was created back in March to upgrade through the CLI. I then have to install another patch to get to the latest supported version. It works but is pretty tedious with the amount of nodes I have.

Re: Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
Well I think you moved yourself into a dead end. Your current installed version of ESXi 6.7 can only be upgraded to 7.0 U2a which currently is not supported by Simplivity. Even if you resolve the issue by removing the vib, you would try to make an unsupported back in time upgrade.

Re: Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
Not sure about your comment. I ended up having to use the offline bundle for 7.0 U1 and upgrading through the cli. I then patched to 7,0 U1d which is the latest supported version.
Not ideal but worked

Look at this:

It is possible that you mess up your installation.

Re: Vsphere 6.7 to 7.0 upgrade error
Did you get any answer if you could remove the Vib and run the upgrade?
