Hi Team. Where can we get the Brocade SMI Agent only, or Brocade SMI Agent Tool. This used to be available many years back. For instance: SMI Agent Version "120.11.0". We need this for monitoring Brocade Fabric and Switches. I understand it comes bundled with BNA/SANnav etc, but it used to be a separate ONLY as well.
Thanks

Re: Brocade SMI Agent only
During the Setup of BNA you can choose to only install SMI Agent:
SMI Agent Only (Go to Configuring Network Advisor.)
NOTE
SMI Agent is not supported in a Professional edition configuration.
NOTE
If you choose to install only the SMI Agent, the configuration defaults to the SAN Enterprise package. When you open the Network Advisor client, a License dialog box displays, where you must enter a SAN Enterprise license key to use the client. If you enter a SAN Professional Plus license key, you must downgrade your license and restart all services for the changes to take effect. For instructions, refer to the user manual or online help.

Re: Brocade SMI Agent only
Hi Cali. Thanks for the information.
Exactly, in the previous versions we used to install SMi-S only part and without any need of license at all. And, if we go ahead with entire install, we had the option to use some 90 days trial preiod etc. So, not sure if in the latest available/downloadable BNA version, it is mandatory to have a license or not. I'll download and then give it a shot, and update. We basically need SMI-S Agent only part for one of our well known Enterprise 3rd Party Tool(SRM Suite) to discover the switches using smis provider.
Thanks.

SolutionIf I need BNA, I still Install 14.4.2, so far as I know, this was the last version that can be used without a License (In Professional mode).
After the takeover of Broadcom, the subsequent versions could no longer be developed without a license.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Brocade SMI Agent only
@Cali Hi Cali. Yes, I have tried 14.2.0, 14.2.1, 14.4.2 and 14.4.5. And I am looking for even another older version. Not able to find. And, with these three versions it doesn't let to install with GUI interactive mode, instead asked to use command line mode: with -i option.
For example with all these executable installanywhere will complain that , 'Installer User Mode Not Supported'. totally weird. The installer cannot run in this UI mode. Use cmd line option followed by -i option. The valid UI mode identified are GUI, Console and Silnet. So, I do XXXXXX.exe -i GUI, and it starts installtion fine till license acceptation and even further all the way, and we can see BNA folders getting populated. But, later at the end it gives the error: Some errors occurred during the install. And, then never goes to that second important part - BNA Configuration(where we chooose SMI only etc).
And, I remember in one or two previous version, it will give option to select SMI-Only, or Trial License and even if the trial license expires later on and we can't login to GUI with error license expired and add license, but SMI-S component was well installed perfectly for usage. Thanks
