downgrade of synergy service pack 2024.07.02 to 2024.01.02
Morning all.
I would like to check if this can be done safely and if anyone has done this.
Reason I would like to do this is due to the fact that the version of the firmware is too new for the OS that will be run on the compute nodes (vmware esxi 8u2c ) so I will need to downgrade as I accidentally upgraded to this version on the enclosure and virtual connects.
I would also like to check the exact process for doing this.
Thanks in advance for the info.

Re: downgrade of synergy service pack 2024.07.02 to 2024.01.02
Yes, we can force a downgrade of the firmware from Synergy Service Pack 2024.07.02 to 2024.01.02.
- Downgrade Steps:
- ICMs and Shared Infrastructure: These components should be downgraded first.
- Compute Modules: Downgrade these after completing the first step.
Recommendation:
- We recommend raising a support ticket with HPE. We'll need to review logs and will proceed with the downgrade if necessary.

Would it be possible to upgrade to ESXi 8U3?

Re: downgrade of synergy service pack 2024.07.02 to 2024.01.02
Hi Turtil.
We have decided that we will wait until 8u3a is released as we have a n-1 patching policy so will not be patching 8u3

Yes, that works. You can proceed with the update and follow the n-1 patching policy as planned.
