HPe Synergy - Lost boot disk after Server Profile Apply

Hi there,

we've an issue on an enclosure Synergy based. It's composed by 4 frame; each with esxi 8.

Initially all nodes were working with their local datastore. On node1 we added the RAID part of the storage via the server profile, applying the profile the frame can no longer boot from the local disk, as if it did not recognize it.

the server profile has been rechecked and the boot flag is selected only on the local disk, the error presented seems to be only an "effect" error and in fact it reports "Interconnect subport is unlinked"; but we believe it is an irrelevant error, since before applying the server profile related to the RAID part, the server boots regularly.

From the ilo we accessed the console and the boot does not start, from the BIOS we tried to force the "One-Time boot" from the Local disk but without success; it still does not find the boot disk.

how could we solve it?

thanks

gr

Rif.: Query: HPe Synergy - Lost boot disk after Server Profile Apply

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

I wanted to ask because it is not very clear to me, if by performing this procedure I will also lose all the content of everything that is installed on the Frame? As there is an esxi node, already connected to a vcenter (on the second frame).

Thanks

Re: Rif.: Query: HPe Synergy - Lost boot disk after Server Profile Apply

Hello,

We believe that the RAID was not initially configured in the Server Profile, and when you selected the RAID section in the server profile, the logical drive may have been reset. Please try reinstalling the OS and check if it boots from the profile.

Cheers...
