Issue with Mezz Slot 5 on Synergy Gen10 with Multi MXM Expansion Module
Hello,
We recently purchased two Synergy 12000 chassis along with several Synergy servers (Gen9 & Gen10). Additionally, we acquired two Multi MXM Graphics Expansion Modules for our Gen10 servers (iLO Firmware: 3.09, System ROM: I42 v3.32). While the modules work fine overall, we’ve encountered a slight issue: mezzanine slot 5 does not seem to function with a Synergy 4820C 10/20/25Gb Converged Network Adapter (Part No.: 877647-001, Firmware: 8.65.22).
The iLO and the chassis both detect the presence of an adapter in slot 5, but neither the BIOS nor our ESXi host recognizes it. Both Gen10 servers are equipped with two Mezzanine PCIe Pass-Thru Modules (Part No.: 876570-001) in mezzanine slots 1 and 2.
I came across a bug announcement (a00114736en_us) that indicates this configuration should work. For reference, we have Synergy 10Gb Pass-Thru Modules (Part No.: 799330-B21, Firmware: 1.17) installed in interconnect bays 2 and 5.
Is there a BIOS setting that needs to be enabled or a dip switch (aside from switch 9, of course) that needs to be toggled on—either on the Gen10 server or the expansion module—to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Re: Issue with Mezz Slot 5 on Synergy Gen10 with Multi MXM Expansion Module
This is not what you are asking about, but I feel obligated to share the Synergy Gen9 end of life schedule:

Most importantly: "HPE OneView 8.30 and SSP 2022.08.01 is the last software release combination that include support for the HPE Synergy 480 Gen9 compute module."
