Query: Single frame topology with two Virtual Connect SE and two satellite modules
System recommended content:
1. HPE Virtual Connect Module for Synergy - Uplink port from one VC module shows in "Linked - Standby"

Becuase OneView wouldn't allow install Satellite modules in single frame!

Re: Query: Single frame topology with two Virtual Connect SE and two satellite modules
Hello,
The only use case scenario for this that I can think of would potentially be adding another NIC into another mezz slot, then adding the appropriate interconnect for that NIC.
Each VC module must have it's ILM in the same fabric, so if you install a VC module in bay 3, the satellite must be in bay 3 of frame 2. The only possible configuration that would allow for this to work (due to the limitations in the fabrics) would be to have a VC module in bay 1 or 2 and another in 3, then have the appropriate ILM in the corresponding bay in 4 or 5 and in bay 6. This would result in no redundancy. This configuration would also not be allowed by Oneview.
The rules for the master/satellite modules are documented on the HPE site:

Re: Query: Single frame topology with two Virtual Connect SE and two satellite modules
The Composer (HPE OneView) will not allow the definition and configuration of modules that are unsupported. VC modules must be either redundant (2 modules) or non-redundant (1 module). There is no opportunity to create a fabric that is non-redundant with an ILM in a single frame. The ILM purpose is to extend the network to another frame without paying for another VC module.
The quickspecs also summarize the choices at a high level.
