Synergy DL480 Gen10 - Event Class: 0x14 & Event Code: 0xc
Hello,
I had a Synergy blade that failed, and the log mentioned the following error:
"Server Critical Fault (service information: Runtime Fault, Mezz Cards, MEZZ 3 (02h)) Event class: 0x14 Event code: 0xc Learn More: http://www.hpe.com/support/class0x0014code0x000c-gen10"
I tried the URL, but there is nothing behind it. So I searched the forum and found the topic "https://community.hpe.com/t5/proliant-servers-ml-dl-sl/proliant-dl380-gen10-server-critical-fault-service-information/td-p/7121811" and the error code listing document: "https://support.hpe.com/c3fd7970-147b-4ba5-9a31-09c9689c36a4".
However, there is no "Event Code: 0x000c" listed...
My server was a VMware ESXi 7.0.3 host.
Could someone help determine the issue?

Re: Synergy DL480 Gen10 - Event Class: 0x14 & Event Code: 0xc
Usually with this kind of issues it is better to open a support ticket as it may be a faulty hardware on that blade server, either the HBA or the System board.
So, open up the case, collect the AHS log of that server from the iLO web interface and upload it to the ftp link they'll provide.
In the meantime you may try to update the firmware of the server, also, try to re-seat the HBA and see if that helps.
Regards.

Re: Synergy DL480 Gen10 - Event Class: 0x14 & Event Code: 0xc
Hi @SheridanShadow ,
Event Class 0x14 typically refers to hardware faults related to mezzanine cards or interconnects in HPE Synergy systems.
Please try these steps:
- Download and install System ROM version 2.45 (or later) to resolve this issue.
- Check firmware compatibility between the Synergy blade, mezzanine card, and VMware ESXi 7.0.3.
- Update iLO firmware and ensure the Synergy Composer and Image Streamer are also up to date.
- Review the Integrated Management Log (IML) for any additional clues or correlated faults.
- Set the Workload profile to ‘High-Performance Compute’ and monitor the server.
- If the issue persists, Set the Workload profile to ‘Virtualization – Max Performance’ and monitor the server. (OR)
- Set workload profiles as High-Performance Compute (HPC) in RBSU. Please refer to the below screenshot
If the issue still persists, please log a support case with HPE here
Thank you!
