Synergy SSP contents list

Hi

I'm looking at the SSP 'contents list' that's linked from the SSP download page and comparing this with the firmware versions displayed on the 'HPE Synergy Comparison Tool'

For example - the comparison tool for the latest SSP (2023.10.1) shows the SSP bundle includes fw version 8.65.09 for the 4820c CNA techhub.hpe.com/eginfolib/synergy/sw_release_info/C.8.6.html however, there is no mention of this on the contents list for the actual SSP https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=dp00003418en_us  - in fact the 4820c isn't mentioned at all in the document. 

How do I identify the firmware version that will be applied to the 4820c CNA using the 2023.10.01 SSP  published 'contents list' rather than the information from the Synergy firmware comparison tool.

Sorry for the confusion.  Yes, this is an area we could improve.  We receive the component kits from our suppliers that cover an entire family of products; rather than introduce risk by repackaging we pass through through.  I recognize that it would help if HPE at least could map to our product names, but that's not done.

You can trust the Synergy Firmware Comparison tool page to list versions (although it does not list most drivers).  It is carefully reviewed and rarely has an error.

In this case, what is found in the SSP contents list is the "Family" name that covers multiple products (but alas you can't know which ones easily):

In order to determine what is inside that kit, you need to find it separately in our support center download page for that component.  This is how the ProLiant world worked and Synergy inherited it a decade ago or more.

I've been comparing the contents list of the Synergy Support Pack (SSP) version 2023.10.1 with the firmware versions displayed on the HPE Synergy Comparison Tool.

The Firmware Comparison Tool provides more descriptive information, offering greater clarity than the SSP contents list.
