When is EOSL of Synergy 480 Gen 9?

Hi Guys,

I can't find information about End of Sales or End of Support Life of server Synergy 480 Gen9? There's no information about dates, all I know is SY 480 Gen9 is not currently on sale but I couldn't even find since when.

EoSL or EoL is not yet available for Synergy servers.

For End of Support / Life, please refer to the HPE Support portal.

Hi Suman,

Even for Synergy Gen9 servers? I mean, I understand Gen9 servers are retired (not selling anymore) and from retirement it use to be five years until end of support, that was my concern.

HPE Synergy Gen9 compute modules have already released their last firmware bundle.  The end of software support is one year after that release, with no planned updates or patches unless a critically serious issue is found (as such there is already an iLO4 security patch for example).

Although HPE is a little behind in publishing a customer notification on the EOSL, you will find the following statement in the SSP release notes:

NOTE:
HPE Synergy Service Packs (SSPs) released after 2022.08.01 will not support HPE Synergy Gen9 servers.

Keep in mind the traditional "5 years" is for break/fix hardware support, sometimes, but not always for continued sofware updates.  Your support contract will determine how long those things are repaired, but the software support in the current market is determined by HPE's ability to continue long running partnerships with hardware, firmware, software providers and OS vendors.
