VM Essentials Installation in a single host

Hi team, Is it possible to install VME on a single host for a client who doesn't currently require high availability (HA) but wants to use HPE virtualization instead of VMware? What are the limitations in this case?

Thanks

Re: VM Essentials Installation in a single host

The simple answer is yes, you can have VM Essentials in a single node without any HA.

The more complete answer is that it will depend on the kind of storage you want to use, the supported architectures would be:

- Local disks: You can use the server's local disks for VM storage

- External NFS datastore: You can mount an external NFS share to use it for your VMs

- External block storage: This is not directly supported, but you could mount an FC or iSCSI LUN directly to the host, mount it in a directory and use that directroy in VME as if it was local storage
