Hi all,
We are currently checking our systems and applications for the use of Oracle Java to find out whether and how many licenses we have to order due to the new license system from Oracle.
One application that relies on Java 8 is our HPE iMC 7.3 installation.
My question(s):
- Is HPE planning to give valid Java licenses to all customers using iMC?
- Do we need a Java license for iMC at all?

SolutionHello,
One of the primary changes between older iMC 7.3 E0605 and newer 7.3 E0703+ versions is that the built-in JDK was changed. E0605 and prior were running with Oracle JDK, while E0703 and onwards are running OpenJDK 11 instead, which is not affected by the license fees.
Versions of IMC with the old Oracle JDK wouldn't be affected either, as they were released prior to license fees taking effect.
Hope that answers your questions.
Justin

Hi Justin,
Yes, my question was answered with complete satisfaction. Thank you!
I must have missed that in the release notes. :-S
