imcfaultdm repetedly stops working
Hello!
On our IMC host (lastest P10 patch) the imcfaultdm is not working anymore. After restarting the process, it runs at most for an hour or so, then its producing the same errors again and device statuses are not updated in IMC.
From that moment on the log file contains the following lines again and again:
2016-11-23 09:15:45.556 [ERROR (105)] [THREAD(4038060864)] [CCommuEntity::iForwardAsyncMSG] The message can't be sent because the current task is null. 2016-11-23 09:16:07.862 [INFO (0)] [THREAD(4012899136)] [CTrapDBAccessor::delFaultStageBuffer] Has no data, and SQL is: select serial_no from vw_trap_data_all where (pos_info_summary = 2886708997) 2016-11-23 09:16:07.862 [INFO (0)] [THREAD(4012899136)] CTrapDBAccessor::delFaultStageBuffer no data or error. 2016-11-23 10:48:11.449 [INFO (0)] [THREAD(3834571584)] [CQvDBConnMgr::acquireDBConn] Thread 3960449856;4012899136 hold connection,Blocking Count=2
Unfortunately I have no idea what this could mean.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Johannes

Re: imcfaultdm repetedly stops working
Hello,
This discussion is a bit old, but perhaps this can benefit others.
We had the same problem, imcfaultdm stopped working every few minutes after restarting the process.
In our case, the problem was that imcfaultdm could not process every linkdown/linkup trap the server received from our 500+ switch.
As a workaround we filtered these linkUp/linkDown Trap by modifying "Interface Up/Down Alarm" settings in the System -> System Configuration -> System Settings menu.
