A6795A Fibre card issue

We have a RP4440 running HP-UX v1 Sept 2005 EOE, with two the A6795A Fibre cards. When I do an ioscan I get the both cards are "unknown". I have done some searching on other posts and tried a few things with no avail. I have installed/upgraded to the following:
PDC version 46.35
PHKL_34161
PHSS_37660

Also I was looking at fcmsutil but there is no device file in /dev and I have tried to create it but it will not work. Can someone help.

I just loaded the latest driver with no changes, ioscan still says "unknown" for the fibre cards. Anymore thoughts?

Have you tried running the ODE diags to see if the hardware is configured correctly?

Try moving them to other slots, re-seating, etc...

One question as I have been looking and before I move the cards. When I look at /dev directory there is no td0, or td1 or anything starting with td in the directory. I have tried to create it with the /sbin/rc2.d/S900hpfcms file but it does not work. Shouldn't this td0 device file be there for the fibre cards to work?

It looks like these are Qlogic cards:

unknown -1 0/4/2/0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI-X SerialBus (10772312)

unknown -1 0/5/1/0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI-X SerialBus (10772312)

My A6795A have completely different Vendor and Device IDs for HP cards:
Vendor ID: 0x103c
PCI Device ID: 0x1029


Suggest you install the latest Qlogic drivers. See this thread:

The only Qlogic drivers I am finding are for Linux. We have H-UX 11i v1. Can you let me know where the download is that you used. I can see the fcd and td drivers listed in kernel drivers but using insf and mdsf does not help. If I am doing it correctly.

Try here for the latest versions, but you also may need patches for the cards you have in addition to the latest drivers. If it still is unclaimed, then it may not be a supported hba...

Maybe you need to pull the card and verify it is a true HP-UX/rp4440 supported FC HBA?
