Configuring MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD
Hi everyone,
I'm having difficulties configuring the MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD. I'm using this CD because I don't have a label on the server that tells me what is the MP DNS name and the previously configured IP for the MP is no longer responding. So, I thought to give a try and set again the IP for the MP card. I don't have a laptop with a serial port and also don't know the MP name, so I can't user arp as well. I have in my possession a CD with IPF Diagnostics version 0909 (September 2009) but I can't find the ilosetup on it. Also, is it possible to obtain the MP MAC Address from the OS? machinfo command doesn't show me that...
The server is a rx2660 Itanium. If you need, I can provide more detail.
I tried to download the latest IPF Diagnostics CD (1103) but I was unable to download it because the instructions are incorrect due to the latest changes in HP sites, and the only thing I could do was to order a package through mail, when I just need to download the release.zip.
Any help would be great.
Regards

Thank you very much Torsten. I downloaded and burned the .iso into a new CD. Can you please tell me now how can I run ilosetup? What is the module under ODE that has this utility?

Re: Configuring MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD
Can you quickly point me out where I have acess to the hp\tools on the IPF main screen? On the server screen where I can select the OS, EFI Shell, etc., I choose "Internal DVD Boot" entry and I then get access to the IPF screen.

Re: Configuring MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD
No, it is NOT.
I assume it is a rx2620.
Please confirm.
The iloconfig tool does nor work for a rx2620.
Xonsider to get a serial connection working or reset the MP to defaults, it will get a DHCP address.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Configuring MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD
You're right, it is a rx2620. I'm sorry to have led you in a mistake.
How can I reset MP to its defaults?

Re: Configuring MP IP Address with the IPF Diagnostics CD
Hi,
Please refer page 28 in the HP Integrity and HP 9000 iLO MP Operations Guide HP Part
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01868331/c01868331.pdf
You need a serial connection for this, (as you need to confirm on serial port when you press reset button).
Hari
