RX2620 intermittent Firmware Hang
Hi,
I'm Using RX2620 with HP UX OS,
System FW is 3.17
BMC FW is 45.01
I ever read on this forum that 3.17 is had trouble with this intermitent firmware hang,
and it happend also in my system,
There is some random occasion where server canot boot up,
and LED Panel inform that Firmware hang.
and sometimes server can boot up normally.
And I tried to update firmware to 4.29,
But it is failed general OEM Error #1015 (0x03F7)
Whenever rebooted it has some warning like
Warning [10] : BMC System event log full
Warning [55] : Invalid or inaccesible system ID(s)
Please advise how to solve this problem
Best regards,

Re: RX2620 intermittent Firmware Hang
Hi,
Please try the following steps to resolve the issue.
1.Try to reset the BMC via the 'rb' command from the MP>CM> prompt.
2.Reset the system via 'tc' command from the MP>CM> prompt.
3.Reset the system via 'rs' command from the MP>CM> prompt.
4.Pull a/c power cords for 1 minute and then reapply to system.
MP will post for 30 seconds and then re-establish the connection into the MP. Now boot the system.
if above steps are not resolving the issue, please log a Hardware case with HP.

Re: RX2620 intermittent Firmware Hang
System FW 04.29, BMC FW 04.04 and iLO MP FW E.03.32
>> Invalid or inaccesible system ID(s)
This usually happens after a system board replacement, if the product# and serial# values are not valid.
Go to EFi and do
Shell> sysmode service
Shell> sysset
Shell> sysmode admin
Compare the values you get!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RX2620 intermittent Firmware Hang
Does this will resolve Firmware update problem?
Because firmware update always fail adn it error code is OEM #1015 (0x03F7)
Because intermittent power up happened by old firmware,
that I tried to update but failed.
But I will tried to clear BMC log and system ID as your advices,
I hope after BMC log is cleared and system ID is resolved, it is also resolved firmware update.
By the way, this system board hasn't ever replaced.
I didn't know why this system ID error occured.
Best regards,

Re: RX2620 intermittent Firmware Hang
Hi,
The OEM error #1015 means, iIssue while updating system firmware and exit from updating system firmware.
The possible reason for system ID issue is , it might not be set initial installation phase of the server.
I hope the issue has been resolved after performing the suggested action plan by us.
