cannnot close the IE window??

I could close the IE window.. Have to close it only using task manager..

What does happen when you click on Close Button (Any message, slow execution, etc)?
What OS and IE version, too.

Hi,

If you are unable to close Internet Explorer, try these steps and check if it helps.

Open Internet Explorer, goto Tools menu and click on Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab and uncheck the " Enable Third Party Browser Extensions". Also goto Security tab, click on Custom Level and disable all the options under the Active Scripting. Click OK to make changes and restart the computer. Check if it helps.

This can be resolved by deleting a registry key by performing these steps:

1. Click Start, Run
2. Type REGEDIT
3. Click OK
4. Delete the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\BrowserHelperObjects
