IE broswer question

This question is not with HPUX, but since folks here is very knowledgeble...

when I type my user id, email address, or any searching strings, all these characters will leave in fields, and will show to anybody who uses the same computer.

Is there anyway to remove all these words I left? I have tried to delete cookies, history file, and other temp file, but they don't work.

Thanks,

Re: IE broswer question

cookies, temporary files and clearing the history will not disable the auto search words in the IE. Here is what you should do:

1. Right click the IE icon and select properites.
2. Click the contents TAB and then click on the Auto Complete.
3. Uncheck users name and password.
4. Click on both of the options to CLEAR FORMS and CLEAR PASSWD.
5. click Apply>OK.
That it!

Re: IE broswer question

XMAN,
you are the MAN!

last question before I assign points to you.
how to clean the subject I just click on.

ex, when I search a string in yahoo.com, and it will list many sites, if I click one of them, the color of the line will turn to other color, indicating I have already visited the site, but I don't want to be that way.

Thanks again!

Re: IE broswer question

To clear the links you've already visited you need to clear the history.

-Tools
-Internet Options
-clear history
-ok

That's it

Re: IE broswer question

Hi,
One more way to clear the search words
on search window, using alt + down arrow key will show you all the lines you searched.
select the line you want to delete, press delete key on keyboard.
