Caller ID on call forwarding
Suddenly my system is no longer forwarding the caller ID of the person calling, when the extension is setup for call forwarding. If it is a user calling from within the PBX it does forward the Caller ID information, however it does not when the call is coming from outside. I've looked and I cannot find a feature setting for this. Does anybody have an idea of why this may be happening?
One other note, we recently switched ISDN carriers from Level 3 to Verizon. Would the carrier restrict this type of service somehow? Thank you.

Re: Caller ID on call forwarding
Its very possible .
When was the switch ? Before or after the issue started ?
what kind of NBX ?
What code ?
What types of tels ? 31XX , 21XX , 11XX , etc .
When a regular call comes into a tel , does the correct caller id show up prior to transfer/ forward ?

Yes, caller ID works great on incoming calls to the phone.

Re: Caller ID on call forwarding
I take it you are call fowarding a call back out the ISDN lines.. so a call comes in the ISDN line and then gets forwarded out another line.. is this the scenario?
If so, then check Country Setings/Advanced Regional Settings, setting should be "Send Originators Caller ID"..
If it is set to that, that means you telco is changing it... many telcos may see a caller id coming out the PRI line which is not what they expect (it is the originators caller id) and change it.

Re: Caller ID on call forwarding
Go to the carrier and ask to see what they see on an outbound all forwarded by us .
You can also do stk logging on the NBX and we can see what is being sent . You can open a case for instructions on this and we would be glad to assist .
Not sure why but it may be we are presenting something to the carrier that they do not like , in the string .
One option is to go into regional settings / advanced and see what that is set for . You may want to try and change it and see if this resolves the issue as well .
