Connect Import Data
Hopefully there are enough people who have played around with the connect series a bit.
Basically I am trying to use the import data option in the first time setup wizard.
I have managed to get the template documents looking pretty much how I want them after LOTS of trial and error, but when I import it just takes a very long time to import then loads with no data.
This is better than loading up the default data with 4 users in hunt groups that you have to go through and delete but still very annoying as I would like to streamline these installations as much as possible.
Any ideas?
I can send the template files to anyone who thinks they can help out.
Regards,
Ray

Re: Connect Import Data
A coworker of mine had some issues with importing as well, come to find out he had old templates and one of the fields wasn't importing right, so it wouldn't import the entire record.
Does the import post any errors when you import?
What you may want to do is run this by 3Com Support. They helped out my coworker on this. Turned out being a specific field that was to blame. He thinks it was the web logon id or something to that nature. He can't remember though as it was months ago.

Re: Connect Import Data
As ChesterCoperpot said, did you use the template in http://
Also, as you are importing you can run a "tail -f /var/log/messages" to see any problems that have occured during the import.

Re: Connect Import Data
I attended a conenct training cause in sydney Australia, we brought up the issue of the box configuration with the voice PST engineer in the office who was answer a question from the trainer, he said he was working on a Australian config to help with faster deployments for a customer deploying a large number of sites. I'd contact 3Com support and raise a ticket, there could be a really fast answer here.
Cheers, Soxcamp
