Layer 3 switch port change to router port

Is this possible with E3800 and 2910 layer 3 switches. If possible, how to enable it. Would like setup a couple of ports to act a router port

Hi,

 

there is different way to do routing on some port. On ProVision based switches (ex E-Series/ProCurve) you cannot change the port from bridge to route and assign ip address directly to the port as it is in Comware based switches (ex A-Series/H3C).

 

You have to create a separate VLAN, add port to this vlan (untagged or tagged, it doesn't matter, but both sides of link should be the same) and assing ip address to this VLAN. The same you have to do on other side of link. This will make L3 link.
