Add New Hardk disk to HPE MSA 2050 Storage

Hi Experts,

We have HPE MSA 2050 Storage (Version:VL270P003-01) and we need to add new physical disk to the existing RAID5 / Storage Pool (each disk capacity is 14TB and newly added disk as well is 14TB)

Could you kindly provide process steps or instructions to configure new disk to the existing pool.

Many Thanks.

Best Regards,

Re: Add New Hardk disk to HPE MSA 2050 Storage

Hello @TechB ,

The Gen 5 MSA (1050/2050/2052) only supports virtual storage and does not support expansion of the individual disk-groups. Wide-striping with the same size disk-group or addition of another tier for expansion are your options. If you add a performance tier, be sure to account for the license required.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,
Sahana S.
