HBA for MSA 2060 / 2062 SAS
I am new to HPE and was told by HPE that HPE storage in general, and that MSA would work with Dell Servers as we are a Dell shop.
I aquired an MSA 2062 SFF SAS for use with direct connect to Dell Poweredge R630 Hyper-V hosts and am looking for the appropriate PCIe HBA card. My search in SPOCK: https://h20272.www2.hpe.com/spock2/Cont/ConfigsetView/index/131044?lang=en&cc=us&hpappid=213467_SPOCK_PRO_HPE is showing only 2 standard PCIe cards:
- HPE Smart Array E208e-p SR Gen10
- HPE Smart Array P408e-p SR Gen10
I was hoping to be able the use the appropriate Dell HBA card for the PowerEdge R630, but it looks like both of these cards are using the SR chipset and no HP LSI cards are officially supported, so the Dell PERC H830 would be unlikely to work.
Does this synopsis sound correct?

Re: HBA for MSA 2060 / 2062 SAS
Hello @dvenardos,
You may find these document links useful to find the right parts
MSA 2062 documents list where you have hyperlinks to spare parts and options parts, quick specs ets - https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00106570en_us
Dell PowerEdge R630 supported spare parts - https://www.dell.com/en-in/work/shop/pfydresults/6108188?page=5&categoryId=2999&c=in&l=en&s=bsd&cs=inbsd1&mfgpid=6108188
I am not very good at server hardware. Hope those document links help you to find the supported/suitable spares for MSA 2062 and PowerEdge R630

Re: HBA for MSA 2060 / 2062 SAS
@sbhat09, the links that you provided are not the correct resources to address the post. The link in the original post to SPOCK is the correct HPE resource to answer the question. This is a question regarding MSA compatability with different server HBA and not on finding parts. This is posted in the MSA forum and requires a response from someone that has experience implementing the MSA in the field.
