Re: How to determine whether HP MSA 1050 can support SSD
Hi @Mabduloez
The use of SSDs (solid-state drives) can greatly enhance the performance of a system.
Virtual disk groups that contain SSDs can only be created with a Performance Tier license when other HDD disk groups exist in the system. If the system contains only SSDs, then virtual disk groups can be created without a Performance Tier license.
I hope you found this useful!

Re: How to determine whether HP MSA 1050 can support SSD
Hi Sahana_S,
Thank you for the reply.
does that mean if I purchase Performance Tier License and add up SSD to my existing HHD pool, will also enhance the performance of my MSA1050?

SolutionHi @Mabduloez
Yes, when SSDs are used with HDD along with a performance tier license, it will improve read and write performance through automated tiered storage.
Thanks and Regards,
Sahana S

Re: How to determine whether HP MSA 1050 can support SSD
Sorry for asking too much.
but the license itself won't help unless with SSD, right?
