MSA 2040 disk compatible
Hi.
In our office, we are using SAN MSA 2040.
To service this device, we periodically buy HDDs to replace those that have failed.
It turned out that one of the hard drives was bought incorrectly by mistake - 872738 instead of 787649.
The supplier refuses to make a replacement because about six months have passed since the purchase.
However, both chassis have drives of the same model (EG001800JWJNR).
Could I use a new drive to installing it in chassis 787649?
Will they be compatible and possibly not cause conflicts at the firmware level?
Best regard, Dmitry.

Re: MSA 2040 disk compatible
As per MSA drive matrix spare part number 872738-001 doesn't show so ideally you shouldn't use it for MSA.

As per HPE Partsurfer it seems 872738-001 use in Servers,

With Spare part number 787649-001 we found below drive models as per MSA drive matrix which includes EG001800JWJNR as well,
