MSA 2050 configuration

Hi All,

i have a new MSA 2050 with 18 600GB SAS drives, unit connects via FC to switch and two ESXi hosts.

My question is split the drives into two pools across the controllers or create one large pool?

Thanks

Re: MSA 2050 configuration

Hi,

Creating 2 pools will provide controller level load balancing.

Creating a RAID 5 disk group with 9 drives would follow the power of 2 recommendation.

We have noticed significant sequential write performance improvement if this recommendation is followed.
