I have a feeling the sending of logs via syslog just doesn't work on an MSA 2060.
I've now tried with two different firmware versions including the most recent IN210R004, but on both occasions, there just doesn't seem to be any traffic sent.
If I connect via SSH to the controller and ping the syslog server, it works and I can see the ping requests in my network and firewall logs.
But when I configure the Syslog server in the web interface and tick the Send Test Syslog Notification box, nothing is sent.
I've confirmed that I can make changes via the cli with the set syslog-parameters and the settings I put in there are replicated on the web GUI a few seconds later. But I can't seem to find anyway of triggering a test notification via the CLI. Is there a way?
When I do it on the web GUI, I do get the "Successfully initiated a notification test" popup but nothing seems to be sent.

SolutionThanks,
I did read the various release notes, and spotted this:
Issue: The test syslog operation may not generate a test notification.
Workaround: Set the syslog notification level to info to validate connectivity.
But despite setting the notification level to info, it still does not sent a test notification. This is what I have:
# show syslog-parameters
Syslog Parameters
-----------------
Syslog Host: x.x.x.x
Syslog Notification Level: info
Syslog Host Port: 1514
Alert Notification: all
Persistent Alerts: Enabled
Success: Command completed successfully. (2023-10-02 14:23:27)
Yes nothing is sent when I click on the send test notification in the GUI.

Re: Query: MSA 2060 Syslog doesn't send?
OK, it's now working. Not sure why it didn't before, but I can now see syslog traffic on the network.
