Re: MSA SAN Switch 2/8 password reset
You should be able to ssh or telnet to the switch and login with:
admin - password
user - password
factory - password
root - fibranne
If you can log in with the root account, you should be able to perform an passwd command.
Watch out with the root account, you have full access to the switch!
Otherwise, you need to call customer service i think.

Re: MSA SAN Switch 2/8 password reset
I`m apologise, but thread is not working.
We have SAN HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1000 (Part Number 201723-B22)
with two Modular smart array 1000 controlers (Part Number 218231-B22)
and two HP StorageWorks MSA SAN switch 2/8 (Part Number 288247-B21, Fabric OS v3.2.0).
Through one of switches it isn't possible to be connected to the server. The POST indication and messages received through serial cable of errors isn't present, and all tests are passed.
Logon to a switch is impossible as all passwords by default were changed (admin, root, factory, use/password, fibranne).
According to the instruction "BROCADE. Fabric OS. Password Recovery Notes" for reset of the password on switches with Fabric OS v3.x is used the Password Recovery firmware method. We made it, but it didn't work. The firmware booted, but passwords weren't reset.
Please, tell as how to reset the passwords or to receive firmware for recovery of passwords by default?

Re: MSA SAN Switch 2/8 password reset
Here is the procedure:
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01781247&sp4ts.oid=315123
Note:
Recovery firmware must be obtained from HP Support
You may consider to get a used switch from somewhere with known credentials ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
