Hi,
One of my customers is currently running a MSA2040 dual controller SAN. All 25 disk slots are filled up, they are looking for expansion. So I am looking for a disk enclosure.
The quick specs I found for the MSA2040 recommends a 2040 disk enclosure or a D2700 but both are EOL. After looking at the quick specs of the 2050 disk enclosure I see it is also supported at t he MSA2040. Searching around I see 2052 isn't supported, where can I find out what is supported. For example is a D3710 supported? What is a recommended expansion for it?
Best regards,
Thomas

SolutionHi,
From MSA 2040 quickspecs sheet:
The MSA 2050 SFF and LFF disk enclosures are the recommended enclosures to be used for capacity expansion on the MSA 2040 storage system. (Page 12)
https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04123144?jumpid=in_lit-psnow-getpdf
Page 31 lists the product numbers of enclosures:
HPE MSA 2050 LFF Disk Enclosure - Q1J06A
HPE MSA 2050 SFF Disk Enclosure - Q1J07A
D3710 is not a supported enclosure with MSA storage.
