Hi guys,
I'm relatively new into using MSA devices and I have a general question. I've purchased a MSA2052 with 10 1.8TB 10K SAS disks.
Is there a best practise about placing the disks into the drive bays or simply start from bay 1 to 10?
Many thanks!

SolutionThere is no disk placement rule in MSA for your situation.
Only thing if you have SSD and SAS drives along with multiple drive enclosure then keep in mind that SSD need to place in array enclosure to get better performance.
For your situation it's better to place from 1 to 10th slot for easier identification physically keeping in mind drive fail or any critical situation troubleshooting.
Hope this helps!

Re: MSA2052 Best Practise placement for 10 disks
Any number of SSD placement, please give priority to place them under Controller enclosure or base enclosure only till free slots available in Controller enclosure or base enclosure.
Hope this helps!
