MSA2060 iSCSI network switch config
Hi All, we have a MSA 2060 connected to a Windows Server 2022 host via Switch using ISCSI. I am using all 8 ports on the MSA (4 x 10Gb per controller) as per best practice and have 2 x 10Gb ports on the Server. I can ping all of the interfaces on the MSA on controller A with no delay. When I ping Controller B, the first 2/3 attempts fail before response. After this response is fine. But then pinging controller A, the first 2/3 attempts fail before response. After this response is fine. Is this normal. Also is there any specific switch config for the MSA2060 regarding iSCSI traffic? MTU, Flow control etc
Sorry for the long post

Re: MSA2060 iSCSI network switch config
Hi Rich,
I have not observed this behavior in MSA arrays.
You could probably try disabling flow control on switch end and check whether the ping response improves.
Best practice recommendations for iscsi configuration is listed in the document at the below web link:

Re: MSA2060 iSCSI network switch config
Hi Arun,
I've turned off flow control and now pings are unreliable from from both controllers. I've since noticed that this looks like a windows issue. Pinging the controller interfaces from the switch has no issues moving betweeen them. Any information on settings for the 10gb interfaces in HP dl360 for iscsi and jumbo packets (the cards are Broadcom p210p Netxtreme-E Dual Port 10Gb pcie cards)

@RichHam
Sounds like you have duplicated IP addresses in your network (or) duplicated MAC addresses.
Check your iSCSI host ports for duplication of either. Contact HPE support if something seems off.
When a MAC or IP address is duplicated, your switch needs to re-setup the address tables and would cause an issue where paths would work then not then work again.

Hi,
Could you share the controller and chassis serial number through a private message?

A1 mac = B1 mac, A2 = B2 and so on.

@bmorrisj
Please contact HPE support as a short term workaround you can connect A1, B2, A3, B4 and leave the others disconnected but likely there will need to be a hardware replacement which HPE support will be able to help you.
