Re: problem with san storage 2050 . I can't remove pool

Hello,

Did the issue start after adding a new hard drive to array?

Meta data from hard drive used in different MSA could create ghost disk groups/pools.

if this is an unit in production, I would suggest logging a case with HPE and get the logs reviewed before proceeding further.

You could use submit a case or chat with HPE options under "Cases" at the following link to log a support case:

Hello,

If you recently installed a new drive(s) from another array, try removing those drives, install them in the old array, and delete the vdisk/disk-group/pool. Once the vdisk/pool has been deleted you can then install the drives into the MSA2050.

If you are unsure of which drives contain the Pool you want to remove, then please log an HPE Support case. You have to be careful when deleting pools, that you do not delete the pool that you currently are using and have active data on.

To open a support case with HPE Support using the following web link, if the unit is under warranty: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home

If the unit is out of warranty, you can open a chat support case with HPE using the following web link to check for options: https://pg-receiver-pro.glb.itcs.hpe.com/WCLWeb/WCLEntry.aspx

Cheers,
Shawn
