Hi,
I've recently been asked to assist a customer with an LFF 2050 MSA which is running deprecated firmware. Array is overall healthy so the main thing I wanted to confirm is if i can go directly from VL270P002-02 to VL270P008? I also note there is mention of changes to the manage account from f/w VE270P003 meaning a process has to be undertaken to create a new manage user. Would this still be applicable going from VL270P002-02 to VL270P008 and if so I assume I would need to follow the instructions here after updating to P008?

I assume no disk/volume/host/pool configuration would be impacted. Also no other user account configuration? The customer also had LDAP configuration in place. Assume this would be unaffected. Don't want any 'surprises'.
thanks
Adam.

SolutionHi Adam,
Direct upgrade to the latest version should work.
There would not be any impact to disk/volume/host/pool/ldap configuration after firmware update.
From firmware release notes:
MSA systems that are restored to defaults will no longer include default user names and passwords for logging in to the system.
When upgrading to this version, either existing local user or default user accounts will remain intact and can be used as before.
As with any firmware upgrade, data backup is recommended.
