I'm facing a problem with my LC2000 Server running Win2000 with 3 Disks of 9 Gb each on Raid5; the following error message appears when the server boots : "unresolved config mismatch between disk and nvram"
Following some advices posted on this forum I tried to run the Netraid Express Tools pressing "CTRL+M" when prompted, however it does nothing and it won't load. Any clue about that? Can I access it via a floppy disk and if so, where can I download the Netraid Express Tools? Thx for all answers - Sebastien

SolutionYour situtation requires a different method of troubleshooting. You either have a hard drive that isn't spinning up or that one of the hard drives config doesn't match the other hdds. Boot into ctrl-M and write down your logical and physical drive properties, Look at all 3 hdds for any errors and that capacity is reported. If one of the drives has errors or shows no capacity, fail that drive manually in objects-> physical drives
If all of the drives look ok, then start with ID 0 and mark it failed.. Then boot, if you get the unresolved config again, boot to ctrl-M , mark ID 0 back online and fail ID 1. Repeat the process until you are able to boot without the unresolved config error. Then rebuild that hdd. If you are not able to resolve the unresolved config with this step. Last ditch effort would be to clear the config with all hdds installed, recreate the array as you documented it and then boot back to the NOS. DO NOT initialize the array.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: Can't access "Netraid Express Tools"
have you tried this page for you downloads?
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19399&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50440&prodTypeId=15351&swEnvOID=54
The diagnostic tools goes on to 2 floppies and is bootable, so you can try these
hope this helps

Re: Can't access "Netraid Express Tools"
i am sure the other posts given before will be of help but from reading your question, your problem is primarily that you cannot enter the Express Tools. I see you are located in France and as such most probably use a AZERTY keyboard.
You should press CTRL and the '?' key (the one normally located right next to the letter 'N' since this is where the letter 'M' is located on a QWERTY keyboard.
At this stage in the boot the AMI BIOS is not aware of any non QWERTY keyboard layout .... so this is Made In USA :-)

Re: Can't access "Netraid Express Tools"
After shutting off the Netserver, I put back the 2 drives and restarted. Then, I could enter the NetRaid Express Tools with the 3 drives in.
Greg => In the NetRAID Express Tools, two drives were already marked as FAILED. The only option I had to get the 3 drives to work again was to clear the configuration and start it again.
Kris => although I have an Azerty keyboard, the CTRL+M works for QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards using the "M" letter.
Malvin => I tried the diag tools but they are of no help in my case as they don't give you access to the NetRaid configuration.
Many thanks to all of you for your replies

Re: Can't access "Netraid Express Tools"
I'm glad that worked. With you being able to recreate the array and get back to data, then you most likely had a power issue with the system and the metadata for the config became corrupt.
Cheers,
Greg
