LH 6000r RAM Upgrade Question
After upgrading the RAM on our LH 6000r from 2GB to 4GB to server would not boot. With eight available slots our original RAM configuration uses six slots; 4x256MB and 2x512MB sticks. Knowing that we have to upgrade in pairs we installed 2x1GB sticks in the last two available slots. When booting the server nothing happened.
Only thing we can think of is either the server cannot handle the multiple stick size pairings or the 2x1GB sticks added caused the problem because they are both from different manufacturers (one is HP and the other is PC Connection).
Any insight or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: LH 6000r RAM Upgrade Question
Did you remove them to verify that they are the problem?
They could be seated incorrectly or, yes, they could be the incorrect DRAM for the system.

Re: LH 6000r RAM Upgrade Question
Yes. After removing the 2x1GB sticks the server was able to boot. Both sticks are SDRAM DIMM PC133. The PC Connection web site mentions that the stick we have "can replace HP Part# D8268A", which is exactly what the other stick is.
