LH3000 remote install OS using TopTools?
Is the TopTools part of a default config for the LH3000? Does TopTools allow for remote installation of an OS (linux), virtual mapping of a CDROM or floppy? If not, can I place a RiLoEII expansion board in the system? If TopTools will allow for this, can you provide me with a link? Thank you in advance.

Re: LH3000 remote install OS using TopTools?
If by TopTools you mean the Instant TopTools or TopTool agents then no, there is no optin to remotely installing the OS.
Do you have a TopTools RCC (Remote Control Card) installed in the server? If so, the RCC card does allow you to remotely install the NOS...but this does not include Linux.
The RILOE II card is supported in the Netserver LH3000 & does support specific versions of Linux. What Linux are you considering?

Re: LH3000 remote install OS using TopTools?
I am running COE Debian. I have used the integrated iLo on DL580 and DL380 to remotely install. iLo does not appear to have an OS dependancy as it simply provides an alternative drive mapping to an external/virtual cd or floppy drive. I have a couple of RiLoEII cards laying around and a LH3000 system in Europe which needs my installation. So if I can simply have an attendant install the RiLoEII and config onto the local subnet, I should be able to install the OS remotely, granted proper port accessibilities. Correct?

I can only reply that theoritically yes, you should be able to do the install.
