more proc upgrade queries... LH4 P3 550

I am considering a proc upgrade to my LH4 it is currently a 550mhz PIII. I was told that this proc was the fastest the server would take, any upgrade past this would cost £5k plus â is this correct? - if possible to upgrade, any recommendations or ideas on cost would be useful, I need to be around 1ghz, unless the server will take more.

have seen P3 750s in a LH4,

but i would recommend getting a new line of servers from HP. There are some low priced servers that can compare to your upgrade prices

The fastest CPU made for the LH4 is a 700 MHz Pentium III XEON / 1mb Cache supported by HP. The Part number is: P1229A . I also found the CPU using part number P1229-69001 for about $3248.00 us currency from http://partsurfer.hp.com. You could possible also find it from www.pmount.com. Since I donâ t have to much faith in my currency calculator, you would probably be able to get a more accurate exchange rate.

PS. The 750 CPU was probably 3rd party CPU. Not saying that it wont work or canâ t work but just saying that the server probably wasnâ t able to use the whole capacity of the CPU or the server is now over clocking itself. But since Iâ m not sure what the whole story is I canâ
