Netserver LC 2000
Hi there, I have just been asked if I could rebuild a netserver for a local charity group who had it given to them. I have built Compaq servers using Smart Start and was hoping someone could direct me to a site where I could download HP insight manager (I think thats it) or what ever I need to build it from ground up using all HP software. Thank you in advance and also for taking the time to read my post.

Re: Netserver LC 2000
No actual HP software in necessary to 'build' the server actually. HP did make a similar startup CD like the SmartStart, a Navigator disk, that would install a service partition to the hard drive or logical disk to help with the OS install, but usually the drivers are old now and cause all sorts of problems because you do not get to update the drivers on the hidden partition.
All the tools are available to configure your LC2000 without a CD. All the drivers are avaible still online at Netserver.hp.com depending on the OS you are going to use. If there is a RAID controller and drives, you should receive a prompt at POST to configure or view the current configuration and status. If you do not see the prompt about the RAID controller and simply a prompt, this is for the onboard SCSI controller and there is no RAID controller. THere too you can view the configuration and SCSI drives available
