Netserver LH4 fails to discver onboard NetRaid controller
The server in question is to be re-assigned use.
So I considered it a good idea to upgrade all the BIOS first.
BIOS updated to 4.06.36PS
hot swap backplane to B.01.26
NetRaid to 03.03 ( I think )
can enable to NetRaid controller in the BIOS but during the bbot process it is not identified. Have tried diags etc not no go.
please help

Re: Netserver LH4 fails to discver onboard NetRaid controller
Hi Bryden,
there are three easy things to try first:
1. CMOS clear
(this is always a good idea after a BIOS flash...)
2. Unplug Your NetServer for some minutes and try again afterwards.
3. Remove all disks and set the onboard controller as SCSI only and power cycle rather than reset or reboot
One of these three almost always helps.

Re: Netserver LH4 fails to discver onboard NetRaid controller
Bryden,
If the controller does not POST despite being activated in the F2 BIOS setup,it definitely sounds like a controller issue. At the very least it should banner the presence of an HP Netraid adapter on bootup.
Double check to make sure that the Netraid controller is enabled.
Ditto for clearing the CMOS, you would be amazed at how many problems this solves.
