Raid 0 to Raid 1????
I have a NetServer LC 2000, I wonder if I can add a new disk and use it to convert my existing Raid 0 to Raid 1?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Raid 0 to Raid 1????
Hi Hector,
yes you can, the best solution is to use a hardware card like a Netraid card i.e.
This is not available by default in the server, it is a optional PCI card.
Other option is to do it via the operating system but this is no so flexible in case of recovery and asks more resources from the cpu but is the cheapest solution.

Re: Raid 0 to Raid 1????
Yes, you can migrate from a Raid 0 to a Raid 1. Like Kris was saying, the easiest way is through hardware. So hopefully you are using a netraid card for your raid 0. You will need to use Netraid Assistant installed on a Microsoft operating system or you can boot to your navigator which you can access the Netraid Assistant from the boot. NOTE: make sure that both disks are as identical as possible. For example: if you have a 9gig 7200rpm, ultra 2 make sure the new one is also 9gig 7200rpm, ultra 2. For the sake of argument, if you need something different try to match it as close as possible, this will help with the migration. Also make sure you have a good recent backup before performing the procedure and also make sure you bios is up to date and same with the hard drive firmware, netraid card firmware, backplane firmware and driver.
If you have a software raid 0, then consult Microsoft support tech documents for the best help.
