Shut down with w2k

I??have installed a w2k server on netserver LH3.When I launch a shut down, the server stop with the message "It is now safe to turn off your computer".BUT I WANT A FULL SHUT DOWN WITH POWER OFF.(whitout the message and push the button power off).What ??s the solution.All updates (bios firmware drivers)are doing.

This is typically caused by a software issue. If you search the ITRC forums you will find a number of postings where certain software such as drivers or applications are causing a computer to not power off on a 2000 shutdown. I would suggest starting with Microsoft document # 315409, HOW TO: Troubleshoot Shutdown Problems in Windows 2000.

Thank you for yours helps but I did the Q315409 of microsft and I think that my problem is due to APCI mother board because when I saw in my device manager I have MPS UNIPROCESSOR PC in field COMPUTER and NOTHING ABOUT ACPI in SYSTEM DEVICES and when I saw an other server (lp2000) I have ACPI uniprocessor PC in field COMPUTER and ACPI fixed feature button in field SYSTEM DEVICE.What do you think about this???

I am not sure about the LH3, but the LH pro and LD pro, which I have some familiarity with do not support APCI, which is what will shut the computer down all the way.

You are both right! The NetServer LH3 is NOT ACPI-compliant, and consequently is unable to power down when Windows 2000 does a shutdown. The HP 2000 NOS install document includes a table listing the Netserver supported under 2000, as well as required BIOS, ACPI compliancy, etc. This document is available on all the newer Navigator CDs as well as the HP web site at:
