HP Aio400 help with recovery!
Hi,
We have HP Ai0400 NAS, we lost the recovery disks, we we used HP Smartstart, we had deleted the old array, and cretaed new one, but we could not install the windows OS, its says not compatiple, after time we found the recovery disks, now the error msg saying :
"An invalid logical drive configuration has been detected"
One of the hard drives is damaged so we remove it, and placed an order for new one, could be the cause ?
Please help us with this problem!
Thanks in advanced.

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
you would need to either manually or via some other way re-create the logical drives so that they are created exactly the same as before. (One for OS, one for data, presumably) You may be able to find out how this is done in quickspecs/user guide/service and maintenance guide.
Have you looked on http://software.hp.com for recovery media?

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
Yeah I think you need to re-create the arrays as they were / or use the recovery CD/DVD.
2x RAID0 at 30G will not do the trick..

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
not in the quick start instructions, user guide or admin guide either.
Question: have you tried to erase all the array/logical drives and then run the recovery DVD? Maybe the recovery DVD creates the required ones for you.

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
So just to confirm: you have tested with 0 arrays and 0 logical drives configured?
How does it look in BIOS? Is there a serial number/product number entered?
What is the product number of your AiO400?
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=5697-6101a
requires AG502A.

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
I had tested with 1 array, 2 raid 0 logical drive.
I did not check in BOIS, but I think will as normal hard drive, and I did not entered any serial number/product.
PID: AK225A
Thanks for trying to help.

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
"Note: The System Recovery DVD by default, will re-image the Operating System (OS) logical drives. All data on these drives will be erased. A data backup is advisable before beginning the recovery procedure."
could be hardware problem ?

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=AK225A is a AiO400r. This product number does not work with the recovery DVD on software.hp.com.
Did you get a recovery DVD with the AiO?
So you did not enter a serial number/product. AFAIK the PN and SN should be entered in BIOS.
If we cannot find the recovery CD/DVD then you may have to contact HP to try to locate the disc.

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
Well. Any red lights? Have you done any hardware modifications? Are there more than one raid controller in this server?

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
Ah great. What does it say on the recovery DVD? Does it mention your product number?
It may be that on your AiO the PN/SN are not required..

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
But, there is no place to enter any thing ... when am staring the NAS from the recovery disk, there is 2 GUI buttons, start, and exit, once I press start, a pop-up windows showing "An invalid logical drive configuration has been detected" !

Found these:

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/printable/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=5697-7221a
Does it say what version you have on the disc?

Re: HP Aio400 help with recovery!
Maybe somebody else can assist with this. One thing that'd be nice trying would be to manually create the logical drives just the way the recovery DVD wants them to.
Maybe it's possible to find out by going through the QR DVD (I'd assume it's in some script somewhere, but maybe not). This sounds like something that'd take quite some time, which I don't have.
