HPE OEM makes smooth Live and On-Demand Streaming possible. Here’s how!
Do you remember the last movie you watched in the theatres? It's been so long and we all badly miss enjoying the excitement of a new movie and oohs and aahs of a live audience. The global pandemic unveiled a new way of living & more and more people are now turning to online streaming to fill the entertainment void by watching movies, television, and the news on TVs, computers, or other connected devices. The unforeseen spike in demand for streaming services quickly impacted content service providers, and the companies that support them. That includes Velocix, a global supplier of carrier-grade IP video streaming technology.
Velocix is a leading innovator of content delivery solutions, serving large video service operators around the world. Essentially, Velocix makes video personal on every connected screen. Their solutions are used to engage, entertain and inform millions of people around the globe, every single day. The company is dedicated to providing best-in-class solutions to its customers. To do so, they partner with leading technology innovators like Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
According to Jim Brickmeier, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Velocix, "HPE enables us to satisfy the demanding needs of our customer base by providing us with leading-edge technology at competitive prices, as well as using their global supply chain to reliably deliver hardware capacity when and where we need it. Pair that with exceptional service from their sales and support teams, and you have the makings for a long and strong partnership between our companies".
Velocix’s software technology, which runs on HPE servers, provides the foundation for delivering and monetizing live television, on-demand video, and time-shifted TV services. And utilizing the capabilities of HPE ProLiant servers has proved to be a fortuitous decision. Despite the rapid increase in demand for online streaming during the pandemic—including movies, TV shows, news, and content to support online learning— the impact on Velocix solutions and technology was negligible.
In 2020, what used to be a nice-to-have service quickly became a necessity in many households, as video streaming provided families around the world with a much-needed break from the stress and uncertainty of the pandemic. There’s little doubt that as the world moves onward and heals from COVID-19, streaming will continue to be a ubiquitous part of their daily lives.
