HPE OEM Solutions Meet the Team: Michael Kempe
Join us for an interview with Michael Kempe, HPE OEM Solutions Sales Manager. We find out more about being a sales leader and the importance of the edge-to-cloud movement.
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Michael. As a Sales Leader at HPE OEM Solutions, what does your role involve?
I work with my team to drive the OEM business for around 400 partners. We are involved in long term solutions and short term projects for various industries, including healthcare, logistics, process manufacturing, and more.
What is the greatest challenge that you have overcome in your role this year?
The main challenge has been the management of the supply chain situation and subsequently supporting our smaller OEM partners. They need us as their voice to secure their shipment dates.
What has been your greatest success?
All our OEM clients rely on us for consistent support and timely shipments. They need to protect their supply chain, inventory, and production. Despite these challenges, we have been able to consistently secure the ongoing production for all our partners through proactive discussions, planning orders, and problem solving.
What do you enjoy most about working for HPE OEM Solutions?
I have been working within the OEM business for many years. I have always been โ and still am โ fascinated by how broad the industry is. Iโm always excited by the prospect of learning and understanding our partners and their unique solutions. Our OEMs are global leaders in their individual branches and niches, and it fills me with great pride to support them with our products and services.
Whatโs next for the HPE OEM Solutions sales geography that you lead?
Besides the support for our current business, we will continue to grow in current and new market areas. With a stronger promotion of our V-OEM program, we plan to address new and established software providers to support their business and allow them to expand their capabilities and extend their reach in new ways.
How are you seeing the market that you are working in shift recently?
I would say that the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) is simultaneously a huge opportunity and challenge for all involved. The edge-to-cloud transformation is a game changer for all established industrial IT and operational technology (OT) providers. Weโve been seeing a massive shift here and itโs our goal to become the partner of choice on this journey.
One final question: what do you enjoy doing most outside of work?
As a trained farmer, I enjoy being outside in my garden and growing vegetables. I regularly play beach volleyball with colleagues, friends, and family. Besides that, I am also a fan of early morning cycle rides to stay in shape and clear my head.
Thanks for your time, Michael!
