HPE Virtual-OEM program and Veritas NetBackup Flex Scale
Companies know that next-generation IT is critical to advancing business flexibility, scalability, and agility. But the path to IT modernization can be daunting. With IT environments growing in complexity and data volumes increasing, enterprises need ways to simplify IT management while minimizing risk to their data and operations. For this reason, Veritas Technologies, a global leader in multicloud data management, data protection, and storage optimization, leveraged the HPE Virtual-OEM program to create a compelling next-generation backup solution: Veritas NetBackup Flex Scale.
According to Sreeharsha Sarabu, Staff Product Manager, NetBackup Flex Scale, Veritas, “Veritas customers now have the option of purchasing our backup solution as a turnkey, containerized solution running on HPE servers—a significant advantage for both private- and public-sector organizations seeking to modernize their operations”.
NetBackup services to support service mobility and supports fast failovers, upgrades, and rollbacks. The solution simplifies infrastructure management by automating key tasks such as initial configuration, scaling, and performance management. This next-generation backup solution delivers significant benefits to Veritas customers. It gives companies a streamlined, simplified road map to data center modernization.
NetBackup Flex Scale helps to future-proof Veritas customers’ IT environments. As HPE adds new functionality and performance enhancements to its servers, companies can take advantage of those improvements by simply inserting new nodes and retiring old ones. The solution’s architecture also enhances infrastructure security, for example, by ensuring that companies can better protect and recover their data in the event of ransomware attacks.
Leveraging the HPE Virtual-OEM program benefits Veritas in a number of ways. It enables Veritas to offer its NetBackup Flex Scale solution globally. The program also enables Veritas to pair its solution with support from HPE Pointnext Services, giving customers access to on-site support services when they purchase the NetBackup Flex Scale solution. Another significant benefit: Veritas doesn’t need to purchase or warehouse the solution’s hardware. This streamlines time to market. It enables Veritas to reduce the capital and operating costs associated with offering its NetBackup Flex Scale solution, boosting the company’s profit margins and solution ROI.
Today, thanks to the HPE Virtual-OEM program, Veritas NetBackup Flex Scale is available as a hyperconverged, enterprise data protection solution. The containerized, cloud-native solution scales from 448 TB to 1.8 PB of local storage, with the option to add over 60 different cloud storage targets or tape. It enables nodes to run multiple presence and reputation as an IT leader, making the HPE Virtual-OEM program a true win-win partnership for both Veritas and HPE.
