Investing in health: My guide to the Global Health Exhibition

Recently, I had the priviledge to chat with Joe Comerford, an OEM Sales Specialist for the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa regions. Joe manages existing OEM partnerships and is always on the hunt for new and mutually beneficial business opportunities. Here's what he shared:

Saudi Arabia is emerging as a global hub for healthcare innovation, having seen $65 billion invested into the country's healthcare infrastructure since 2021.

The Global Health Exhibition, poised to become one of the world's top three most-attended healthcare forums this year, is symbolic of this growth.

With 1,200 companies exhibiting in Malham, Riyadh, 21-23 October, the event will cover every facet of the current healthcare ecosystem, providing a glimpse into the industry’s future under this year’s theme of “Invest in Health.”

At HPE OEM Solutions, we’re fully behind the Global Health Exhibition’s vision. We’ve spent years helping our partners push the limits of what's possible in healthcare—for instance, our OEM partner Elekta is fighting cancer with radiation medicine machines and software, powered by high performing compute from HPE and NVIDIA.

Sure enough, this year’s Global Health Exhibition agenda shows that the limits of innovation in healthcare are always being pushed. Here are a few highlights to tick off your list at the event.

Welcome AI into the mainstream

Last year, over $50 billion was allocated to healthcare technology and social development, focusing on enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and transparency.

The Digital Health Forum gives you a chance to see the fruits of this investment, exhibiting innovations such as cutting-edge generative AI and voice technology in healthcare delivery, as well as discourse about how a value-based, patient-centric approach can change healthcare processes.

There’s been plenty of talk about how AI and analytics are revolutionizing healthcare, but it’s not often you get to see all these advances converge in one place. Among the most impactful use cases set to be showcased at the exhibition are innovative radiology services spearheading advances in disease and illness detection, and the integration of AI models into diagnostic practice, both in-person and remotely.

Witness new levels of medical excellence

The Medical Excellence Forum is sure to live up to its name, spotlighting innovations across clinical laboratory practices, personalized medicine, diagnostic imaging, and nursing excellence. Underlining its place at the forefront of medical advancement and technology, the Global Health Exhibition is even unveiling the world's largest virtual hospital, where attendees can experience simulated patient scenarios and determine treatment and therapy actions.

Speaking of medical excellence, our partners GE HealthCare will be exhibiting their digital infrastructure, data analytics and decision support tools at this year’s event. Head to their booth H1A-C30 to see how they’re enabling clinicians to make faster, more informed decisions through intelligent devices, analytics, applications and services.

Look ahead to healthcare in 2030

Under the overarching framework of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is revolutionizing its healthcare system, driven by both government and private sector advances. It’s this long-term alignment between organizations and institutions that is transforming the nation into a prime investment hub, and most importantly, transforming patient care.

Helping shape this future is the Global Health Exhibition’s Leaders Summit, where visionaries, policymakers, government agencies, healthcare luminaries, scientists and futurists will converge to fuel local strategies, regional initiatives and international collaborations.

I’m excited to see what the Saudi vision for 2030 encompasses. I know it’ll be a world in which we’re closer to delivering value-based, patient-centric care, fuelled by technological progress and carried out by many of the exhibitors on show at this year’s event. I’m also very proud that HPE and the OEM team are playing a part in helping the Kingdom reach its objectives for Saudi Vision 2030.

Tom van Mulders and I will be representing HPE OEM Solutions in Riyadh, so make sure to get in touch with us if you would like to discuss the IT innovations that HPE OEM Solutions can unlock for healthcare providers.

Wishing you excellent health until then!
