Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

I'm not sure. The hardware requirements only list a minimum size. If I were you I would be looking into installing 11.0 or 11i. HP-UX 10.20 is going off support in June of 2003.

Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

Hello,

Where is this disk situated? It's been known that HP-UX 10.20 does not support booting from a disk in various disk arrays.

Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

Hi

Ii was some time since I worked with 10.20 but I can't see any problem using a 36GB disk as boot disk (if using LVM). Have you created a Ignite tape or do you use a Ignite server ? I have never used Ignite tapes, only Ignite servers. At least with a Ignite server it should be no problem to restore a system to a bigger disk (again with LWM it is possible to reconfigure the disk ).

Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

the problem .

i have a b180 with 2 disk :

1. disk of 9 g.b ( the system is seeting in this disk )

2. disk of 36 g.b ( disk data )

i did a ignite backup from a 10.20 hp-ux to a cassete ( the disk was 9 g.b ) and every thing was fine .

when i m booting from the cassete i m getting the install menu but when i m trying to restore the system the ignite menu gives me only the 9 g.b disk and he is not listing the 36 g.b disk .

in the boot admin menu i can see the 36 g.b disk .

does the problem is with the ignite or this disk is not supported by hp-ux 10.20

Hi

Can you see the disk if you do a "search" from the boot menu.

Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

Hi (again):

Did you select the advanced installation tab when you booted from the Ignite tape?

As I recall, if you do (did) you should be offered a list of disks for selection as your vg00.

*Also*: Are you using a current version of Ignite? If not, what version? If not, try downloading and reinstalling the current version from here:

Re: 10.20 and bootdisk

Can it be that ignite shows the disks known in vg00 (1 9Gbdisk) and not of vg01 (logical name for datadisk)??
